I managed to secure myself a mint secondhand XK2 on e Bay for about half of the cost new. Build quality is excellent and it weighs in at a hefty 25 pounds so, whilst portable its not a lightweight organ. I call it an organ and not a keyboard as it really does get you close to that B3 sound. The presets (64 in all) are handy but with a few hours practice it is much more fun to grab a few drawbars, add percussion and pretend that you are Jimmy Smith!! I recently had the pleasure of playing the new B3 in a Uk shop and I can report that the XK2 does a pretty mean impression. OK, you only have 9 drawbars to play with, but the sound quality is as good as it gets for a 'clone wheel' costing 10 times less that the real thing!
The waterfall keys are quite beautiful and actually feel a little heavier to play than the new B3. The Leslie simulation is pretty good - I am hoping to hook my XK2 up to a real Leslie soon to compare notes. Drawbacks ? Well the instruction manual is poorly written, especially if you want to hook up a vintage Leslie (2 channel Leslies are not always compatible), and the split option can be frustrating when used witha preset. Its much easier to play he XK2 as an organ in fully manual mode - just like the B3 - so it must be a good imitation! In addition, Hammond Suzuki like to keep their accessories quite pricey - over 100 pounds for an expression pedal (although the quality is excellent) and 350 for a pedalboard. i suppose I could have bought an old C3 for all that but I haven't got the room!
In summary, great B3 sounds, excellent build quality, beautiful 'glissando' ready keys anda good MIDi spec for those techno nerds. Best of all - it's a Hammond!

I have a Hammond XB-1 organ, but it works the same sound engine as the XK-2. Named VASE II - tonegenerator. The Xb-1 don't have waterfall keys but synth keys are really good, too. I bought it 2002. This is the main keyboard of my gear. My favourite drawbar settings are 688888004 (Upper Manual). Trough MIDI I use my Triton Le as a Lower Manual. The sound is fat, dirty, great overdrive and really beatiful Leslie simulation. You controlled the mic settings easily. I think, I have a veteran keyboard. :) And I have it 20 years later, too. :)
Perhaps there are best clones in the world, but if you try it, you will love it!
