Cakewalk is my first experience in digital recording. I have been very impressed with it's abilities for the home user. I have since spoken with pro-studio producer and started learning about digital performer. Comparatively speaking Cakewalk Homestudio 2 does evrything that I need (or know how to do) at home. I use it with the Tascam-US-122. I have had no problems with this software. The intermittent dropouts in audio I experience are traced back to the USB interface. I have made some very impressive recordings in my own bedroom. The only problem I have is that the user manual does not go into enough depth. I find that if you do not take the time to go through the user help menu tutorials, you will regret it later, just avoid the frustration. I needed a new cd, it was in my mailbox two days later, I love the attention to customer support. THANKS CAKEWALK I now have a newfound joy in playing music again.
